In 1998 the volcanic enthusiasm of Jarrod Miller decided it was about time to start a retro bowling league in order to fill the gap with the card sets never officially used by the I.A.B.L., and shake the compassed world of APBA Bowling.
Eight managers (mostly from the I.A.B.L. active ranks) quickly joined and so the league started and completed its first season playing with the 1978 card set.
